A WORKED EXAMPLE FROM OUR OWN WEBSITE

Inside a Viking Search indexing audit.

The starting point.

On September 9, 2026, we reviewed our Google Search Console Page indexing report. Its September 3 snapshot showed 47 indexed URLs and 29 not indexed.

What the headline missed.

Sixteen exclusions were 15 blog tag archives and one booking-calendar page marked noindex. Another was the XML blog feed. These utility URLs were not the priority for organic landing-page visibility.

What we verified.

Individual URL Inspection showed our Services page was already indexed. Fractional SEO Consulting, Website Strategy & SEO, and the AI Search hub were still excluded. Google’s live tests could access all three and allowed indexing.

What the audit produced.

A focused priority list for three service pages, plus two inactive service-card buttons to repair. The next work was to strengthen useful navigation and clarify each page’s purpose and evidence.
